TownValetAustin: holiday pickup changes
Collection slides to the next day if your day is New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, or falls after one of them in the same week.
In the city’s words: “Your collection day slides to the next day if it falls on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day (or if it falls after these days in the same week).” (source)
Always check your city’s official notice. Cities sometimes change a holiday schedule at short notice. These dates are computed from the rule above and the holiday calendar; where the city publishes no standing rule we mark the holiday week “may change” and do not move any date.
